Presentation Description:
In this screening and presentation, Jamie will review the film’s conversation about the role of gender exploration in the construction of the self and the therapeutic process. Jamie will review Lynn Layton’s conceptualization of “normative unconscious processes” as a way of conceptualizing the push and pull within the consulting room between gender exploring patients and the resistant therapist. Additionally, filmmaker Hunter Adams will join the conversation and a brief screening of his film CRUSH will add to the texture of this discussion.
